Dear fellow Unification Church members,

I joined the movement 30 years ago - 1974 in Frankfurt/Germany.
Sorry guys, I'm not perfect yet. Need a little more time and a lot of help.....

My age is a little bit over 30 years.......
Religion: I'm a protestant.

With 6 month in the UC movement, I was dispatched as a foreign missionary to Hong-Kong, together with an American and Japanese national.

I had the privilege to work in many countries. After Hong-Kong my next mission was Thailand, India, Afghanistan, Bahrain, N. Yemen, Cyprus, Greece and Russia.
In 1992 TP's called all missionaries to Kodiak/Alaska and we all got a new assignment to the CIS. I worked 4 years in Kaliningrad/Russia. It's the birthplace of my mother.

In 1996 True Parents awarded all 21 years foreign missionaries (see above picture).
The same year in June, all former foreign missionaries and their wife's were called to go for 40 days to CP. My wife and I picked the NM mission to the Philippines. I was there 6 times so far, and spent a substantial time with the Philippine movement.
I love the Philippines!
It's a country I really fit in.

I was matched to my beautiful wife Brigitte (Austria) in the end of 1979 and where blessed in 1982, Seoul.
We have 4 beautiful children:
2 boys (18 and 16)
Two girls: (14 and 6)

Dear President Bush,

I want to thank you for what you did the past years since you took office as President of the United States of America. I was very glad that after former President Clinton´s sex scandal in the white house with an intern, you finally won the presidency with your moral views and ethics concerning the family. These Christian values you share are my values and ethics too. I know that your are a man of God, and a Christian as well – someone who is always in deep prayers, and asking heavens guidance.

In only a few weeks will the American people vote, and elect a new President. I’m a German – not an American, but I hope and pray that you will be re-elected in November and start your second term in office. In all my past 5 open letters to you, I supported you in engaging in war with the old Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein and international terrorism. Today many of my friends are asking me if I regret having supported you, the man and woman in uniform, and your government in the war against the former regime of terror, which terrorised his own Iraqi people. NO – I don’t regret it at all. I’m very happy I did so.

I would have done the same campaign, if the President, doing the things as you did, had come from the ranks of Democrats.

History is full of religious conflicts which arise for many reasons. I think one of the primary factors contributing to this phenomena is the deep-rooted disharmony that exists amongst the world's religions. Therefore, when we witness the many global tragedies occurring around us, we should recognize how critically important it is that religions come together to have dialogue with one another and to learn to embrace one another.

We all know military conduct will not destroy the enemies of terror. It needs the reconciliation of all religious people all over the world. And this will eventually intimate the international terrorist network of evil.

The Iraq conflict shows us this very clearly. Terrorist makes no hold in order to advance their objectives to destroy the United States and her allies. For me it seems that it is almost a religious war between so-called militant and radical Islamist movements, who are trying to overthrow and destroy democratic governments across the globe, and replace them with a single Taliban-style Islamic fundamentalist theocracy. These terror groups intimidate Christian values and ethics. And especially on the values of the United Stated, which your citizen cherish so much.

The free world was frightened by more than 60 years of communism which core teaching was there is NO God. But with the present terror by militant Islamist, killing a multitude of innocent lives,- and they do it in the name of “Allah” - are really alarming to the freedom loving world.

In the modern age most nations have religious ideals which hold a place wholly separate from the centres of secular political power. Most people have come to accept this reality, as the way things ought to be. I believe, however, that it is time those international organizations whose purpose is to support the ideal of world peace, reconsider their relationship with the great religious traditions of the world.

Reverend Dr. Moon, as the founder of several world level peace initiatives, including the Inter-religious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP), is now working very hard to bring religious and governmental leaders of the world together under the banner of "reconciliation and love". A couple of years ago, before the United Nations, in a proposal from the IIFWP, he suggested the establishment of an Inter-religious Council or Council of religious representatives, to put forward as the final means to secure a lasting world peace. Political and religious leaders have to work together to avoid religious wars. With an Inter-religious council, Reverend Dr. Moon and the worldwide Unification Movement or the worldwide Family Federation for World Peace believes there will be a decrease in - and eventual elimination - of terrorism on earth, and solve the serious urgent crisis of the world.

Dear Mr. President, I proudly want to tell that I’m a follower of Reverend Dr. Moon teaching for the last 3 decades, and I want to do so the rest of my life. The American government and the people are quite aware of what good Rev. Moon did for over more than 30 years in your country. I believe he loves America more than his own native country, Korea.

You and me are Christians, therefore, believe there is an eternal world in which every human being will go once we die.
In this eternal place, the spiritual world, ALL former U.S. Presidents who are living there, are testifying through spiritual mediums on earth that Reverend Dr. Moon holds the key to solve all human conflicts.

Those former presidents in the spirit world, other historical political famous figures, many religious saints, Jesus himself, Buddha, the prophet Mohammad and Confucius are testifying that Rev Moon is the Messiah, Lord of second Advent, the True Parents who can solve the human misery on our planet earth.

Reverend Dr. Moon is working tirelessness with religious and political leaders from all over the world. Those former and present leaders realize now after more then 30 years of his ministry, that he is the man who can bring this world back to our heavenly Father.

Please, let me say something about myself. In April of 1975, I was dispatched by Rev. Moon as a foreign missionary, together with an American and a Japanese missionary. As you well know those 3 nations were enemy nations. We practiced what Jesus taught us: "To love your enemy.” Dear Mr. President, it was not always easy to love my counterpart from America and Japan. But with the attitude of true love and forgiveness I could overcome all my barriers and limits.

I started out in Hon-Kong. Later on I went to Thailand. In 1976, India was my next mission and I worked there for 4 years. I did humanitarian work and set up a school for poor children. We used a car-garage as a school. I raised money for that project in Germany. We bought educational books, notebooks and pencils. Our Indian members volunteered to teach our Indian pupils. I called them “my” little Indians.

In June of 1979, I went to Afghanistan and a little bit later witnessed the military coup. Exactly on Christmas day, the same year, the Soviet Army used powerful artillery and took over militarily this country. I could have left Afghanistan before, but stayed and prayed to our heavenly Father that perhaps my staying could change the outcome. It was the first time I heard bombs, machinegun fire, saw encircling modern Russian MIGS and attack helicopter flying all the time over Kabul. Armed Russian soldiers were constantly patrolling the whole city of Kabul. To be honest, I was really scared I might get killed by soviet Soldiers or by Afghan Mujahadeen fighters, because in their eyes I looked like an Soviet person. A few western tourists got by mistake killed, because of their white complexion and the Mujahadeen aimed at them like Russian personals. During that time I have met staff from the US Embassy in Kabul, and they invited me to come to play American soccer. They told me after, I did quite well, because I had played soccer in Germany before. That was a very nice experience - playing American soccer. All western who remained in Kabul became good friends, because of the growing tensions.

I went than to North Yemen (Saana). After there I left for Jordan. After that I worked 2 years in Cyprus. In 1986 I came to Greece. I lived mainly in Athens with my family. Two of my kids were born there. I organized Anti-communist seminars (CAUSA-Ideology, i.e. to counter a God denying atheistic ideology with the assumption that God exist) activities and we worked with the Nea- Demokratia- opposition party under the leadership of Constantine Mitsotakis. That time we educated the Greek youth, high-ranking army officers, and some of the political leadership about the danger of communism. At our last educational seminar in Yannina city (North of Greece), we got attacked by the communists and were escorted by the Greek police. Our program did quite well. During that time in Greece I worked as well with two newspapers: I was Photo Journalist for the Middle East times and the Washington Times. http://www.metimes.com

Rev Moon founded these papers among many other publications.

In 1992 I went to Russia and worked there for 4 years. Russian people are nice and deep hearted people, and most of them hated the communist regime anyway. I worked in Kaliningrad, former “Königsberg”, which belonged to German territory before WW2. Guess what? It is the place where my mother was born.

I volunteered to go to the Philippines in 1996. I visited the Philippines 6 times so far. My hope is that one day I can live there to support our movement there.

I have been to United States a few times for short visits only. I felt like home. Unfortunately, I had no chance to work in your country yet.

I often I ask myself: what did I learn in all these 30 years working in foreign countries and helping Rev Moons cause.” I was 24 years old when I left my native country, Germany. If I haven’t met Rev. Moon and the Unification Church, I probably would have joined the Peace Corp founded by JFK.

In concluding, I want to say what I learned most: To respect and love other fellow-human-beings. Where I worked and lived, people looked always different from me, they had different colours; they spoke and behaved totally differently from were I came from, Germany. I became colour blind and open to other cultures and traditions. All the cultures and different traditions have so many common elements anyway, and have so much to offer, to make on day this planet earth a place were there is no more war, poverty and crimes. And this I truly believe. But bottom line is: “Respect and love for others, which divine translation is, to live for the sake of others”.

Thank you, Mr. President, I could share my heart, my affiliation with Dr. Rev Moon and my experiences with you. I kindly ask you and your government to work with Reverend Dr. Moon, and our movement together in America. I believe Rev. Moon can be of great help. Please don’t miss this chance, because he is a man of God. I hope you will not reject the Messiah while you are in office as U.S. President.

Dear all,

I guess many of you might have thought why I have written these letters to Pres. Bush. Very simple: Lately, and before the war started I have noticed too many negative reports in the print media and on international TV stations labeled against America, and specially my German government handling the Iraq crisis.

It would have been much easier to go out on the street and demonstrate against the war and America. But I did otherwise, my purpose I wrote to US President Bush and the American people was to show support and solidarity at this critical time. I felt it was my duty to do so, because the freedom we German people enjoy today is, because of the many sacrifices which were made by the American and the allied forces in ending WW II.

I'm against the war in Iraq as many of you are, too. But now the war is fought we should support America and the coalition forces in Iraq. I pray for reconciliation in the Middle East, the Islamic and the Christian world.
I pray to our heavenly Father that he is guiding Pres. Bush and the American people.

God and Christ are loving America, therefore, I love America too.

Dear Mr. President,

I'm German and was born in 1951 in Frankfurt a/Main. I want to tell you a small story about my father serving the German army during the time of Nazism against US forces at the end of WW II:
He was only 17 year, a young teenager when the Nazi regime drafted him to the army to fight against American forces. He told me, that only after spending 6 month in the army he became POW of the American Forces in Germany.
My father told me he didn't kill anybody in the war. And I believe him.

My father told me stories when I was a kid about his encounter with American soldiers in Germany. This stories I still move me until today. While my father was in prison the American soldiers fed him and gave him extra chocolates and chewing gum. I'm telling the same story today to my own kids. I think the Americans had all reasons to hate the Germans (my father) but didn't. Your people are kind, serving, righteous, forgiving and loving people. As a kid I grew up in Frankfurt in the 50's. Near our home there was a very busy street, and many American soldiers in their big trucks passed by and gave us young German kids chocolates and chewing gums. We then saluted the soldiers and they saluted back.

I still remember this. When J.F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, my father cried for this American President he never met. I was 12 years when every evening I prayed for J.F. Kennedy and his family. 20 years ago, my father and mother still wanted to immigrate to America, but for some reasons it didn't work out. My father passed away. He loved and respected America a lot and somehow I picked up this spirit for which I'm very grateful.

Thank you America, and the allied forces for liberating Germany from Nazism in WW II.

At present I live in Austria and of course I'm noticing there is a lot of Anti-Americanism sentiment in Europe, because of the war against the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein. This attitude makes me quite a bit sad. With all the demonstrations you watch on TV against America and the print media's reporting, you might easily come to the conclusion, America is the bad guy and Saddam Hussein is the good guy. I don't see too many demonstrations on TV channels and critiques against Saddam Hussein, and his brutal regime in the international Media or human chains against the evil Iraqi regime of terror.

As a German I was very happy when 6 weeks ago, the leadership of the opposition conservative Christian Party, Mrs. Angela Merkel flew to the US and showed solidarity with your government. I was so happy seeing this. You really have do have a lot of courage to do this. Dear Mr. President, I want to tell you: There are also MANY MILLION Germans who are supporting America and the Allied forces in their hearts against the tyrant regime in Iraq. And I'm proudly one of them.
I believe: There is no peace if it is peace at any price. There was peace in the Soviet Union, yet millions were killed, tortured and enslaved. There was peace in Cambodia during Pol Pot, and three million died, and there is peace in North Korea today, but millions are starving because of a corrupt government. The war against Iraq reminds me about the Vietnam war in the 60's when the whole world went against America. The world supported communism and thought it is good, and Communism is the liberator for the oppressed classes.
Was is not like this? Today, with the Iraq crisis I see many similarities. Are the political leaders in the so called free world again blind and don't understand what Saddam Hussein did against his own people 15 years ago and is still doing? Have they forgotten history? I think Saddam Hussein is a potential danger for the civilized world and MUST be removed now.

When John F. Kennedy visited Berlin in 1962, he told the people at the Berlin wall: „Ich bin ein Berliner." After 11 September, 2001, I'm saying today proudly: „Ich bin ein Amerikaner."

Dear Mr. President, may God in heaven bless and guide you in your wisdom. I pray for you and your cabinet members, our allied forces stationed in Iraq and the Middle East region. I also pray for the suffering people in Iraq that they may soon be liberated and taste freedom and democracy, as we, the German people experienced after America liberated us from a dictator and tyrant.

Collective sins / indemnity conditions "still" works

Dear All,
I like to share a testimony which deals about indemnity conditions in terms of collective sins, which occurred in my family 10 years ago.

I guess you still know when I wrote to the list, that my family had a car accident in Poland in 1996 That year I attended with my wife a 40 days workshop with Heung Jin Nim and Dae Mo Nim. in Chung Pyung. At the end of the 40-day, I picked up the National Messiah ship for the Philippines. Before I was missionary in Russia from 1992 until 1996.
After I returned to Russia we prepared for the new mission in the Philippines. On the way to Germany, in Poland by a mini bus my wife with our 3 small children got hurt in a serious car accident.
One passenger got immediately killed. The driver got very serious injured. Our youngest daughter Eleonora (that time 4 years) got seriously injured too, and fell in coma. Doctors in the hospital told me she may not recover anymore, and might not survive at all. I saw my 4-year-old daughter on life saving instruments. I felt so much pain I might loose her. I had to cry. I contacted Dae Mo Nim in Korea and explained what had happened to may family. After 3 days our daughter Eleonora woke up. Doctors and nurses in the hospital said this was a miracle that my daughter survived. Later on I found out Dae Mo Nim had sent good angels to help my daughter to survive. When I asked my daughter what she had experienced in her coma she said: "I have seen strong lights all the time". I believe angel must have performed surgery on her inside injured organs, and that why my daughter got well.

The last 10 years I have been struggling a lot, why this had happened to our family. I was a 21 years missionary and I faced a couple of time a life and death situation. My question I had to God was: why did you allow this to happen?
My injured wife and daughter had to fly from Warsaw to Vienna by a special ambulance plane. We had no money. The far had cost 8000 US$. My mother in Frankfurt called up the European/German HQ and asked for some money from the Church. But the leadership there declined to give even one cent. In Russia where I worked for 4 years also declined to help my injured wife and daughter to fly to a Vienna hospital.

Thanks God, the family members in Austria gave me a donation of 3000 US$ and with donations from my own family in Germany and my wife’ folks we could finally get the money together for the ambulance airplane.
Today, perhaps I can call it additional indemnity condition on the top of the fatal car accident we have been paying.

During my 4 years in Russia I had strong intuition I might loose one day my family in an accident. In August of 1996 the accident occurred in Poland, just before crossing the German border. This happened while I travelled separately to Vienna.
Reaching Vienna I got a phone call from the Poland Church that my whole family is in the hospital. I wasn’t surprised, because I had before that strong intuition something will happen to my family. Of course, I was shocked and in tears what did happen. It was just 3 weeks ago when I left Chung Pyung with a high spirit.
3 weeks ago I saw the movie "Schindler’s list". I have heard of this movie often but for some reason I didn’t see it. As you know I’m German and I knew to well what we Germans did in WW II, committing atrocities and genocide against the Jewish people. Whenever I see movies relating to the Holocaust, I’m always to tears. The question always comes: Why? Why?

When I saw this movie "Schindler’s list" I burst into tears the whole movie along. I couldn’t stop crying. German born Oscar Schindler, to more than 1200 Jews Schindler was all that stood between them and death at the hands of the Nazis. But he remained true to his Jews, the workers he referred to as his children. It reminded me about St. Paul. He was a persistent persecutor of Early Christians, until his experience on the Road to Damascus which brought about his conversion to faith in Jesus as the Christ and Son of God.

Now after 10 years I realized why my family had this terrible car accident in Poland. It was in Poland where the Nazi regime committed this terrible crime against the Jewish race. YES, now I know my family and I had to pay indemnity what Germany did to the Jewish people. In my life I always wanted to serve and love the Jewish people. In 2001 until 2005 I worked with the "Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society" (HIAS) in Vienna. It was an honour for me to be employed by a Jewish organization.

The past 10 years of my life in the UC has been pretty tough. We have a son who is suffering from Autism, and my daughter Eleonora is still dealing with a trauma, due to the car accident she had in Poland. My eldest son is distant from the UC, because he still thinks why this all happen to our family. 3 years ago I got hit by a car. Fortunately, I got not injured. But if, I could have been paralyzed. Looking back I can say "someone" wanted to kill/destroy our whole family. Our family is still recovering from all this.

Everyone is given different battles to fight. Mother Theresa gave her life to the poorest of the poor. Raoul Wallenberg put his life on the line to save Jews. Joan of Arc took her sword to save France. Justin Harding became a marine to serve God, True Parents and Country. Such a heart!

A letter addressed to the Unification Church members:

Dear brothers and sisters,

Sort of surprised at all the hoopala about me on the HHI website. I have mentioned the following statements to clarify why I am in this current mission for God and True Parents.
I would just like to add I would love to go to a Third World Nation and teach Divine Principle. In fact when I retire and the kids are on their way (God Willing) Yuriko and I intend to do just that based off of the pension and fundraising. Yuriko wants to go to Africa and I have relatives on my father's side who were missionaries in Uganda - so a small foundation exists for us there!!! That fact the some are judgemental or critical of my mission leads me to feel that it is the correct way.

I started following God and Jesus in 1988 and True Parents in 1989. I jumped into an MFT van after buying 2 for 10 laser prints with a bible, a backpack, and two changes of under wear. Had 2 day workshop in the New York Center and then 7 day upstate somewhere with Nate Windman as my lecturer. Flew out to Macama Hill and completed 21 and 40 Actionizing in Oakland. Ashley and Susan Croisswaithe, Neville were big guides for me there. I worked hard for Dr. Seuk and Mr. Aoki on National MFT East and West Coast. I also did stints witnessing in Berkeley, San Fransisco, and New York centers. I ended up in Boston CARP. My central figures Mr. Igarashi and Mr. Takeda brought me as a candidate to the Holy Blessing in 1992 Seoul, Olympic Stadium. There I was Blessed to Yuriko Tahara.

My mission then changed back and forth with a newly formed STF in LA under Rev. Tim Henning 1-2 new STF 2nd Gen, Russian bros & sisters. All 13 of us lived in Tim's house several blocks away from CAL State; LA.Jin Hun Nim (Tiger Park's eldest) took over CARP America and I united completely under him with Michael Balcom, Robert Kittle, Howard Self, and George Kazakos all kept in line by Sam Am Moon shi!. We pioneered the STF program, the Pure Love Alliance 21 city tour, and the World CARP Academy in Boulder, CO. I remember winning 2nd place in a Lecturing Competition on a True God's Day and recieving an award from Jin Hun Nim directly. I love lecturing!

Jin Hun Nim told me win the Student Congress Presidency and establish the PLA and CARP at the University of Bridgeport. This cause quite a ruckus with the elder Blessed Memebers who were working to get UB up and running. I ignored them and just did what I was told. We put brothers and sisters on the Newspaper, Student Congress, and made of our our clubs as we saw fit. I was elected to the President of Student Congress by a platform of Unificationists, Muslims Student Association and small Christian groups we went up against the drinking, partying jocks, CIS partying students, and the gay and lesbian activists. God Blessed us and we won.
The pinacle for me was externally having a PLA protest and being put on three news channels at Larry Flint's Movie. We also had Richard Panzer give a presentation of the Sexual Revolution to over 50 students and a few professors from all walks of campus life. Internally we utillized the Chapel for Pledge and Morning Services and conducted Life of Faith Training for 2nd Gen to include Winter and Spring Break fundraising excursions. All of this was with the support of Rev. Gavin Hamnet and then Rev. Chris Hempowicz, Josie Hauer, and Dr. Chin of UB administration. Can you imagine CARP had an office, a budget provided by Student Congress, and a meeting room! I was riding high too high.

Yuriko has given birth to Mathew April 2, 1997 and Reyna in June 19th 1998.
We had the oppurtunity to meet with Jin Seung Nim (Dr. Bo Hi Pak's son) trying to make a balance between 2nd Gen college studies, life of faith CARP, PLA, Church Tradition Korean, Japanese, and Western members - it was a whirlwind of restoration taking place a UB.
I was searching for my role. I thought about going to UTS or back to work with STF and I even had a job offer teaching at the New Eden Peace Academy run by Nora Spurgin and her husband. My heart felt called to help support, raise, and educate 2nd gen to the formula course or life of faith not just going to on to earn a degree and get lost and mixed up with the Canaanites!!!

I graduatied with a degree (Bachelor of the Arts) in Literature and Civilization with a minor in Education - a Magna Cum Laude Status. After long prayers, many confessions, and consulting, and talks with so many elders in the UB community. I came to the conclusion I needed to go down to the bottom and start a new - like True Father. I needed to build my own financial foundation and maintain Heavenly Tradition in any circumstances God would lead me in. So I went down to the bottom Marine Corps infantry Recruit Harding "Maggot reporting as ordered Senior Drill Instructor Sergeant Groton."
In the summer of 1998 I joined the United States Marine Corps "God, Corps,
and Country."
I signed on my contract "to serve God and my Nation" as reason for joining. I went to Parris Island for 3 months. My Drill Instructor tortured me about my reason for joining. In a bit of a nervous angry flinch one day on line in Squad Bay. I shouted out the reply to the D.I. question "Why are you here Harding" "Sir, this recruit is on a mission from God Sir!!!" He shocked me when he placed my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in my hand and promoted me from Recruit Status to a Private in the Marines by leaning over and whispering in my ear "Don't ever forget the mission God gave you!"
I have been serving in 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Weapons Company,
Mobile Assault Platoon 2 for the last 9 years. I started out as an E-1 Private in the billet of Anti-Tank Humvee Driver. Which sounds a lot more glorious then it is.
I have done 2 deployments to Okinawa, Japan (one in 2000 & 2006) and visited Thailand, Guam, South Korea, and the Phillipines where we carried out a Humanitarian Mission digging out the bodies of a village of 1500 who were covered in a 30 foot mudslide. We provided food, medical aid, and re-built bridges and roads over a three week period. And our Chaplain "adopted" the 400 High School student whose parents and siblings were all killed as they were at school when the disaster happened. We did all we could for these kids in that time period. 8 Marines and I covered in mud walked to the base of the land slide.

A cross with many lit candles was planted there as in custom in Leyte, Phillipines. We came to the position of attention and a Marine whaled out "Amazing Grace" on his bagpipes that filled the whole valley while we saluted the newly Ascended. About 200 people, villagers, police, Phillipine Army, Red Cross, and other UN workers all gathered and bowed heads.
And I have done three deployments to Iraq and Kuwait. The first was in Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 2003, Special Purpose MAGTF Camp Fox 2004, and last to OIF 2 in the city of Ar Ramadi, Al Anbar Providence.2004-2005.

marines in the role of a Platoon Sergeant on my next deployment to Iraq in
March of 2007.

(should be getting my third this November) National Defense Ribbon - Operation Enduring Freedom being in military during time of war.

In addition, I have several Letters of Appreciation for volunteer work with the YMCA and a Certificate of Commendation for work in the humanitarian mission in Leyte, Phillipines.
I know it is a long story but, this is to clarify things. I joined the USMC in order to go down to the bottom. I felt I was riding too high meeting with True Children, President of the Student Congress, CARP leader, etc. I wanted also to start my own family foundation in terms of finances and tribal messiahship. My internal "Mission for God" that I never was given a chance to explain to the tortureous drill instructors is "to go to Haran, a land not my own for 21 years" and bring back a family, wealth, and tribe.
I am currently on Year 9 on my personal 21 year course I set up for myself
supporting True Parents in this Sixth Year of the Cheong Il Guk! Once I make the offerring (or if God decides to take my life as an offerring prior to the 21 year mark) I will pray to go on to the next step. It might just be going to a third world nation and witnessing. As the Imams say "In Shallah" (may God's will be done)

Yes, I have killed other men in combat. However, I never opened up on a person without trying to diffuse the situation. I set this example to my marines even though I have been ridiculed by some cowboys out there who shoot first and then ask question.

I attended the event of the Inauguration of the UPF and True Parents intheHotel Hilton in Budapest.I live now in Vienna and the distance to Budapest is only a 4 hours busdrive away. The last time I saw our True Parents was 2001 in East Garden. When I was a foreign missionary I had often the privilege to see TrueParents.

True Father talked for more than 2 hours to the 500 people whichattended the event. The actual time of the speech is actually only 30minutes long. But he talked about so many different topics.True Father kept returning to the actual speech that many times. He saidthat many people had attacked him in the past, but he was never afraidof it. In America 1700 news paper attacked him since he came to America,but they all changed by now. He said also that he helped that PresidentBush was re-elected in office last year.

I felt very sad, that True Parents are still banned in many Schengencountries in Europe.True Father is such a loving and charming person. There are still manypoliticians and religious leaders in Europe, who have wrong concepts about True Parents. What a pity!

During the speech I often had to hold back my tears. I see my Father andMother are still in the frontline fighting this corrupt world. They loveall mankind which is still persecuting True Parents till today.Even thought, I know True Parents and following them for more than 30years, I humbled myself and repented for not doing enough these lastyears.

I had to restrain my tears the affection and love they have for ShinJoon Moon, the grandson who accompany them in the 100 cities speakingtour around the world.When their grandson is around True Parents feels very happy anduplifted. They snuggle and kiss him, as all parents are natural doing. But our True Parents could NOT do so with their own physical children,because of providential reason they had to love Cain children more.I have heard this so many times, but this time I understood it with myheartand I'm still crying internally.

Good evening. I address you as leaders from around the globe who do not hesitate to make extraordinary efforts for the realization of world peace. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your being present here tonight in spite of your very busy schedules.

Ladies and gentlemen, as we begin the 21st century, we find ourselves at a truly historic turning point. We are at a point of decision. Can everlasting world peace take root, or are we doomed to repeat the 20th century's dark and oppressive history of war and conflict? The 20th century was a period of ceaseless struggle, including wars for colonial dominion, the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, and the Cold War. Living through this era, I dedicated my life entirely to the accomplishment of God's ideal of peace. I have always prayed sincerely that the United Nations, founded after the Second World War, would be an institution of peace, and that it would uphold God's will for the realization of eternal world peace. The United Nations has made important contributions for peace. Nevertheless, at its 60th anniversary there is a broad consensus, both inside and outside the organization, that the U.N. has yet to discover the way to fulfill its founding purposes.

The number of member states approaches 200, but the offices of these states do little more than represent and even insist on their own interests. They seem inherently unable to resolve conflicts and achieve peace. For these reasons, I declare today before all humanity the founding of a new international organization, the Universal Peace Federation. Its mission is to renew the existing United Nations and provide a new level of leadership as an "Abel-type" United Nations, that is, a United Nations whose efforts for peace are offered to Heaven, investing itself ceaselessly in living for the sake of others. To commemorate this day in its fullness, I am declaring a message from God to humanity in this age. It is entitled, "God's Ideal Familythe Model for World Peace."
God's Ideal Family

Respected world leaders, what do you think is God's ultimate purpose for creating human beings? Simply put, it is to experience joy through relating with ideal families filled with true love. What does an ideal family look like? First, each person in the family is an owner of true love. When God first created human beings, He made Adam representing all men, and Eve representing all women, with the intention that they become owners of true love. The quickest way for them to cultivate a character of true love was to secure a parent-child relationship with God, whereby they could live in attendance to God as their Father. They were to have followed the path of living as one family with God.

I invite you to enter into a mystical state and prayerfully ask God, "What is the center of the universe?" I am sure that the answer you hear will be "the parent-child relationship." Nothing is more important or more precious than the relationship between parent and child. This is because it defines the fundamental relationship between the Creator God and human beings. Then, what defines the parent-child relationship? Three things define this relationship: love, life and lineage.

Without our parents' love as a precondition, none of us would be alive today. God created human beings out of His absolute love, to be His partners in love. This relationship forms an axis of love, linking God the Father with human beings as His sons and daughters. Is there anything higher or more precious than to be a son or daughter of God? If anything were higher, then surely human desire would aspire to attain it. But there is nothing higher. Do you think that when the omniscient and almighty God created Adam and Eve, He secretly reserved the highest position for Himself and made Adam and Eve to be only second best? We cannot imagine that God would do that to His children, to His partners who share absolute love with Him. As our eternal True Parent, God invested Himself 100 percent into the creation of human beings and endowed us with the right to have equal status with Him, to participate in His work as equals, to live with Him, and to inherit from Him. God bestowed upon human beings all of His attributes.
Though God is the Absolute Being, He cannot be happy alone. Adjectives such as "good" and "happy" cannot apply to any being that lives in isolation. They apply only where there is a robust reciprocal relationship. Imagine a professional singer who finds herself exiled to an uninhabited island. She may sing at the top of her voice, but with no one to listen, will it bring her happiness? In the same way, even the self-existent God absolutely needs a reciprocal partner of love in order to experience joy and be happy.

Next, how shall we live to become God's reciprocal partners and return joy to Him? In other words, how shall we live to become children of God, people whom God delights to call "My son," or "My daughter," people who embody a divinity equal to His? How can we become God's partners in completing the work of creation, partners who will inherit the entire creation? I answer: We should emulate the ideal beginning point of God's creative process. In the beginning of creation, God set up the principle of "living for the sake of others." God set the practice of true love as the nucleus, and from that point He began to create.

Therefore, to become God's children, our first responsibility is to resemble Him. We need to embody true love. The way to embody true love begins by living as a filial child, then a patriot, a saint, and finally a divine son and daughter of God. At that stage we can experience the innermost emotions of God's heart and resolve the grief that He has experienced for tens of thousands of years ever since the fall of Adam and Eve. God is almighty. It was not due to His shortcoming or lack of ability that He has been imprisoned in great pain and has endured immense suffering behind the scenes of history. It was because there are provisions in the Principle of Restoration, which He was not free to disclose, that called Him to wait with forbearance until Adam and Eve's positions, lost at the human fall, were recovered with the appearance of the perfected "Second Adam." Although God is all-powerful, He will not set aside the eternal laws and principles that He Himself established

The Importance of Lineage
Do you know what has pained God's heart, causing Him the greatest grief over the long history since the fall of Adam and Eve? God lost His lineage. And with the loss of His lineage, He lost His right of ownership. Let me talk about lineage for a moment. Lineage is more important than life and more important than love. Life and love come together to create lineage. Lineage cannot be established if either life or love is missing. Therefore, among the three qualities that define the parent-child relationship, love, life and lineage, lineage is the fruit. The seed of true love is embedded in God's lineage. God's lineage provides the context and environment for a true life. Hence, for us to become the ideal people envisioned by God, that is, people of ideal character, and to create ideal families, we first need to be linked to His lineage. To take it a step further, only when we are linked to God's lineage is it possible to create God's homeland, the ideal nation. Only when we are linked to God's lineage is it possible to establish world peace. Please inscribe the importance of lineage in your hearts. I cannot emphasize this enough.

Without lineage, neither life nor love can endure. You strive to set a good tradition, but it will endure only through your lineage. Lineage is the bridge allowing the parents' spirit to carry on through subsequent generations. In other words, lineage is the first and final condition necessary for parents to harvest the fruits of their love, the fruits of their life and the fruits of their joy. We need to know this with certainty.

God intended for the seeds He planted to grow into a bountiful crop to be harvested in the autumn in the Garden of Eden. The ideal of God's creation was that He would raise Adam and Eve, His son and daughter, to the point where they would blossom in true love, give bloom to true life, and bear fruit in a true lineage. God desired to harvest the owners, families and nation of eternal life, eternal love and eternal lineage. Yet when Adam and Eve fell, this lineage, more precious than life itself, was lost. The fruits of true life and true love never matured. They became the fruits of Satan, lacking any relationship with Heaven. From them descended the six billion people now covering the earth.

God's Suffering in Search of the True Parents
False love, false life and false lineage infested the earth. God's love, life and lineage fell into the hands of the adulterer Satan, the enemy of love. Heaven and earth were suffocated and transformed into hell. The world became a wretched place, far from God's presence. Yet humanity to this day lives in ignorance of this. People are deluded into believing that the lineage of the enemy is the lifeline upon which the world depends. This is the wretched truth about humanity descended from the fall. That is why we refer to this world as hell on earth. God views humanity's tragic situation with a heart full of pain.

After creating Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, God intended to wed them with His Holy Blessing and bequeath to them Heaven's right of ownership. God wanted Adam and Eve to inherit from Him the ownership of the entire universe. Because of the fall, however, all this fell under Satan's control. God is like a father who worked and sweated his entire life to accumulate assets for his children, only to have a thief steal everything in one night. Who can comprehend the sorrowful, painful heart of God? God lost His lineage, lost His children, and was forced to hand over the ownership of the nations and world to Satan. There was only one way to recover this lineage and ownership. This was the path to win the natural subjugation of Satan, to have Satan surrender voluntarily. What is the secret to accomplish this? It is only by the power of true love, when we love our enemies more than we love our own children.

Was there ever a time when God, as their True Father and True Mother, could rejoice with human beings, enjoying the natural bonds of parent and child? Has God enjoyed even a year of comfort with His children, knowing that what He created was good? The answer is no; God has not enjoyed this even for one hour. And has anyone been able to comfort God in this pain? No, because no one has known the reason for this unbridgeable gap between God and humankind. No one has known why God and humanity are in such a tragic circumstance.
The biblical account of Cain and Abel reveals the beginnings of human conflict right in Adam's family. It provides the archetype for humankind's unending history of struggle, war and conflict. We are conflicted on many levels, beginning with the war between body and mind within each individual and extending to wars between nations and even to the global conflict between materialism and theism. Extreme selfish individualism threatens our prosperity even today. We deem young people to be the hope of humanity holding the promise for the future, but drugs and free sex enslave them. Advanced countries seem to believe that material goods are all that matter. They recognize only their own interests while ignoring the misery of tens of thousands who die of starvation every day.

Who can untie this ancient knot of Cain and Abel? It has been tightened for thousands of years and grows ever more tangled. Do you think the United Nations can do it? The U.N. at its founding proclaimed a movement for world peace, and for sixty years it has dedicated itself to this task; yet world peace still remains far distant. Peace among nations can never come when those entrusted with the task have not resolved the Cain-Abel relationship between their own mind and body. Therefore, the time has come to launch an Abel-type United Nations that will set its course according to God's will.

God eagerly anticipated that someone would come and resolve these tragedies, but no such person appeared on earth. God waited and waited, looking for anyone who would take on the role of the True Parent. If someone had come forward, I am certain that God would have appeared in his dreams, carried the sun and moon to him, and showered forth lightning of joy and thunder of ecstasy from the heavens.

In this sense, it is a miracle of miracles that for the first time in history a man has succeeded in establishing the position of Adam, securing the position of the owner of true love, and received God's anointing as the True Parent of humanity. It is an amazing fact that his lifetime coincides with yours, and that you and he breathe the same air. I gained victory in the position of the horizontal True Parent, who comes to rescue fallen humanity. On that foundation, on January 13, 2001, I dedicated to Heaven the "Coronation Ceremony of God's Kingship." By that ceremony I liberated and released God, the vertical True Parent who has taken responsibility for the Providence of Restoration. In all of history, this was the highest and greatest blessing humanity has ever received. This victory was absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal. Through this absolute providential victory, God's body and mind are completely liberated!
The Way to Peace Through the Holy Blessing Ceremony

Respected leaders! Our bondage to the lineage of Satan has caused so much suffering throughout history. Let us now boldly step forth to sever it and be grafted onto the root of the lineage of the True Parents. Why should we foolishly continue to live and die as wild olive trees? A wild olive tree, even if it lives a thousand years, will only continue producing the seeds of more wild olive trees. Where can we find the path to escape this vicious cycle? It is through the Holy Blessing. The Holy Blessing Ceremony offers the grace of being grafted onto the true olive tree. It was inaugurated through the True Parents, who bring God's true lineage to humankind. Once you change your lineage to God's lineage, your offspring will belong to God's lineage naturally. The Holy Blessing is received in three stages: resurrection, rebirth and eternal life. Once you receive the True Parents' Holy Blessing, you can give birth to pure, sinless offspring and build an ideal family. The best way to receive the Holy Blessing is with someone from another race, nationality or religion. I call this an "exchange marriage." This contributes to the enormous task of transcending the barriers of race, culture, ethnicity and religion and creating one family of humankind. In God's sight, skin color makes no difference. God does not stand behind the barriers of religion and culture. They are nothing more than the Devil's tricks. He has used them to rule over humanity as a false parent for tens of thousands of years.

Imagine two enemy families who have cursed each other throughout their lives, people who would never dream of living together. What would happen if these families joined together through an exchange Holy Marriage Blessing? Would the parents of two such families curse their son and daughter who became husband and wife, loved each other and built a happy home? If their son were to love this beautiful daughter of a hated enemy, and she were to become their daughter-in-law and give birth to Heaven's grandchildren as pure and clear as crystal, the grandparents would smile with pleasure. In time the lineages once soaked with enmity would be transformed.

What method other than exchange marriage will empower Whites and Blacks, Jews and Muslims, Orientals and Westerners, and people of all races to live as one human family? The ideal family is the model for living together in peace. The ideal family is the nest where we live and learn to become one. There we have the foundation of love and respect between parents and children, shared trust and love between husband and wife, and mutual support among siblings. For this fundamental reason, you should receive the Holy Marriage Blessing from the True Parents and establish Heaven's tradition of ideal families.

A Life of True Love
Let me reiterate: To resemble God, the original Being of true love, we should become the owners of true love. We should embody true love and practice it in order to develop our character. This is the way each of us can become true parents. Then, what is a life of true love? True love is the spirit of public service. It brings the peace that is at the root of happiness. Selfish love is a mask for the desire to have one's partner exist for one's own sake; true love is free of that corruption. Rather, its essence is to give, to live for the sake of others and for the sake of the whole. True love gives, forgets that it has given, and continues to give without ceasing. True love gives joyfully. We find it in the joyful and loving heart of a mother who cradles her baby in her arms and nurses it at her breast. True love is sacrificial love, as with a filial son who gains his greatest satisfaction in helping his parents. God created the universe out of just such love: absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal, investing everything without any expectation or condition of receiving something in return.

True love is the wellspring of the universe. Once a person possesses it, true love makes him or her the center and the owner of the universe. True love is the root of God and a symbol of His will and power. When we are bound together in true love, we can be together forever, continually increasing in the joy of each other's company. The attraction of true love brings all things in the universe to our feet; even God will come to dwell with us. Nothing can compare to the value of true love. It has the power to dissipate the barriers fallen human beings created, including national boundaries and the barriers of race and even religion.

The main attributes of true love are that it is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal, so whoever practices God's true love will live with God, share His happiness and enjoy the right to participate as an equal in His work. Therefore, a life lived for the sake of others, a life of true love, is the absolute prerequisite for entering the Kingdom of Heaven. Respected leaders, you are now living in an age of blessing. God's promises are coming to fruition. The Kingdom of Heaven on earth, the Kingdom of Peace that is God's ideal of creation, is being established before your eyes. My life of more than eighty years, this lonely path trod solely for Heaven and stained with blood, sweat, and tears, is now bearing victorious fruit for the sake of the world's six billion people. From the spirit world, the Founders of the world's religions, tens of thousands of saints and your own good ancestors are watching your every movement. Whoever, therefore, strays from the heavenly path will be punished accordingly.

In more than 180 countries, Ambassadors for Peace who have inherited Heaven's will and tradition are making serious effort, day and night, to proclaim the values of true love and true family. They are moving forward with full force to establish peace on this earth. In the Middle East, one of the world's tinderboxes, Jews, Christians and Muslims have found the resources in my philosophy of peace to engage in a new dimension of dialogue. In past decades my Unification Thought played a decisive role in ending the Cold War. Now I am successfully leading behind-the-scenes efforts to bring about the unification of my homeland of Korea.
But I am not yet satisfied, because I began my life's work at the command of Heaven. I have come as the True Parent of humankind with God's anointing and I am determined to keep my promise to Him. I am determined to obliterate all national divisions and barriers that have poisoned this earth and to establish the world of peace, where all people everywhere can live hand in hand.

A Project for Peace
Leaders from around the world, let me take the opportunity provided by today's distinguished forum to reiterate my proposal for a truly providential and revolutionary project. For the sake of peace and human welfare, I propose that we build a passage for transit across the Bering Strait, where Satan has historically divided east and west, and north and south, and where the North American and Russian land masses are separated. This passage, which I call the "World Peace King Bridge Tunnel," will link an International Highway System that will allow people to travel on land from Africa's Cape of Good Hope to Santiago, Chile, and from London to New York, across the Bering Strait, connecting the world as a single community.

God is warning that He will no longer tolerate separation and division. Carrying out this project will bind the world together as one village. It will tear down the manmade walls of race, culture, religion and country, and establish the world of peace that has been God's cherished desire. The United States and Russia can become as one. The European continent, China, India, Japan, Brazil and all nations, and also all the world's religions, can combine their energies to succeed in this project. The success of this project will be decisive in establishing a Peace Kingdom where people will no longer make war with each other.

Ladies and gentlemen, some may doubt that such a project can be completed. But where there is a will, there is always a way especially if it is the will of God. The science and technology of the 21st century render it possible to construct a tunnel under the Bering Strait. The construction costs are also not a problem. Think of how much money the world is wasting on war. Humanity needs to realize that we are committing fearful sins in the presence of history and our descendants. Let us take one example. How much money has the United States spent on the war in Iraq during the past three years? It is approaching $200 billion. That budget would be more than enough to complete the Bering Strait project.

In this age, war is a most primitive and destructive means of resolving conflict, and will never lead to lasting peace. Now is the time, as the prophet Isaiah taught, to beat our swords into ploughshares and spears into pruning hooks. Why must we continue this tragic path, pouring countless dollars into wars that, in the end, will never bring the reconciliation of enemies? The time has come for the countries of the world to pool their resources and advance toward the world of peace desired by God, the Master of this great universe.

Now that we have entered the Age after the Coming of Heaven, your good ancestors are activated and the heavenly hosts are sweeping down upon the earth. Soon the countries and peoples that appear strong and mighty will change course and shift in this direction.

I leave you with a choice. There can be no perfection in ignorance. The message from Heaven that I convey to you today is both a blessing and a warning to this generation. I, Reverend Moon, will take the lead in establishing true families, true societies, true nations and a true world. Will you join with me as I rise and gain strength in accordance with heavenly fortune? Or will you remain captive behind the same old walls, all of them Satan's handiwork: the wall of your religion, the wall of your culture, the wall of your nationality and the wall of your race, and spend the remainder of your time on earth in agony and regret? Heaven is summoning you to be the wise leaders who will set aright this world of evil and establish a new heaven and new earth.

Today we are participating in the inauguration of the Universal Peace Federation. It represents God's victory, the fruit of the True Parents' blood, sweat and tears, and the world's cherished hope. It will carry out the role of an Abel-type United Nations in relation to the existing United Nations. Under the banner of the Universal Peace Federation, we will serve as peace police and peace army to safeguard global peace. I hope that you will put on new armor in this new age and be wise and brave activists in this worldwide peace force, for the sake of humanity's future. Please inscribe this warning from Heaven deep in your hearts. Remember that the only way to inherit Heaven's lineage, and to establish for eternity the ideal families that God has longed to see, is through the Holy Marriage Blessing established by the True Parents.
